Our first trip to the Barossa Valley

Today we took a trip out into the Barossa Valley, about an hour north of Adelaide
We stopped off at the Whispering Wall, a reservoir dam, which has unique acoustic effects that allows me to whisper at one end, and Caroline hear more than 100 metres away!!!

Then it was off to partake in some tastings, well for Mick anyway as Caroline was the designated driver!!
First we drove to Yaldara where after several tasters Mick decided to buy some Merlot and a 6 pack of Bee Sting beer

Next it was off to the Jacobs Creek visitor centre where Mick had a few more tastings and we bought some more wine including some rose for Caroline

Then it was on to Tanunda for scones with jam and cream and more wine!
There was a train derailment near there yesterday at Nuriootpa and they were clearing the wreckage from the tracks opposite Penfolds winery as we drove through.

We had a look round at accomodation for next time we come as we'll stay the night and bring our bikes so we can visit more of the 70+ wineries in the Barossa Valley
